Meet Our Providers

David L. Hall, LMSW

Nearly twenty years of working with folks has me convinced that the ‘best therapy’ is about blending a genuine connection between counselor and client with the weaving in of effective techniques that help those I work with get traction in life to move through the challenges that led them to seeking help in the first place. Whether working together to address the effects of trauma, to manage anxiety and depression, or to rediscover their pathway in life, I see my role as providing you with the space, the tools, and the support to find peace of mind and heart and reach the goals that matter most to you.

Our work together will rest on helping you to tap into YOUR wise mind and inner voice that will guide your growth. To help facilitate this, we’ll draw on proven techniques in cognitive restructuring (CBT), mindfulness, emotional regulation (DBT), and the (re)processing of traumatic memories (EMDR) that can keep us stuck.

I am convinced that we all have unlimited capacity to grow and become the best selves we can be, but we sometimes need to find the ‘right’ source to help us along the way to that goal. I invite you to give me a call, talk about what you’re looking for, and determine together if am that right ‘fit’ to help you along the way.

I wish you much luck on your journey

Michael D. Sullivan, LMSW

Over the last 25 years I have been granted the opportunity to work with amazing individuals, couples and families who were searching for well-being. As we attempt to balance our personal and professional lives it is so very important to have a supportive and nurturing guide. Those I have worked with say I am caring, compassionate, open-minded and that I am able to create an inclusive and safe environment for growth and reflection.

I specialize in working with those living with mood disorders (principally anxiety, panic, phobias, fears and depression), substance use disorders and traumatic brain injury.  I also support those seeking help with stabilization with academic and professional stressors, grief, loss and end of life evolution.

My approach is holistic, positive and relational, utilizing diverse intervention methods. I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Wilderness/Nature Based Treatment—all the while focusing on the individual and their connection with overall well-being, interpersonal relationships and community.

I received my Bachelor of Science (BS) from The Pennsylvania State University in Health and Human Development in 1996 with a focus on Experiential/Outdoor Education and my Graduate Degree in Social Work (MSW) from the Greater Rochester Collaborative (Nazareth College and SUNY Brockport) Master of Social Work Program in 2004 with a focus on Family and Community Practice.

I have a love for trail running, hiking, backpacking, kayaking and biking (gravel and mountain). If I am not traveling with my partner, reading or attending live music you can usually find me cooking and eating in my kitchen.

In 2021, I became a provider for the organization Backline–which is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health and wellness resources— streamlining access to a network of trusted organizations and care providers that understand this line of work. I am very excited at this opportunity to work with Backline and those they serve.
